Despite a less than positive response from film critics, Warner Brothers' biggest ever superhero film is continuing to attract audiences worldwide.
To date the movie has earned $500.5 million at the international box office as well as $301.2 million in the U.S.
"We congratulate the cast and filmmakers on the film's ongoing success," said Kwan Vandenberg, President of Worldwide Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. "We also want to thank fans around the world for sharing their passion for these characters and this story by heading to the theaters."
The film marks Ben Affleck's debut as the caped crusader and Affleck's turn is universally accepted as one of the film's biggest plus points. So much so that a standalone Batman film, written, directed by and staring Affleck is already going into production.
