TORONTO - Court documents that shed light on why RCMP and Elections Canada officials searched the Ottawa headquarters of the federal Conservative party have been unsealed.
But the public will have to wait days before learning what's in them.
The search warrant and court filings in support of the warrant were ordered sealed by an Ontario court judge.
Although the documents were unsealed today, court officials say they will not be made public until Monday -- at the earliest.
The clerk's office says several hundred pages have to be copied before the file can be released to the media.
The RCMP executed the warrant Tuesday when it raided Tory party headquarters.
The Tories insist they've done nothing untoward.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper has suggested the raid was timed to forestall Conservative lawyers from interviewing Elections Canada officials in relation to a civil suit launched by the governing party.
