TORONTO - CTV says it will continue to broadcast the Juno Awards through 2016.

In 2002, CTV and Juno organizer CARAS decided to move the show out of Toronto and take it to various cities across the country.

That experiment has been a successful one.

The Junos have garnered strong buzz in cities including Winnipeg, Halifax, Saskatoon and St. John's.

This year the awards are back in Toronto to mark their 40th anniversary.

Organizers have acknowledged that ticket sales have been slower than usual due to the multitude of other entertainment options available in the city.
