I spent a fascinating afternoon with the Grade 8's at J S Woodsworth Senior Public School in Scarborough.
For weeks they've been working on a documentary about child soldiers and slave labour in the coltan mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The video was a powerful and tragic expose on the realities of life for Congolese -- children in particular. Their teacher, Jean Pierre Yambwa, originally from the Congo, invited me to speak to his students after following the digital diary I filed during my recent trip with Journalists for Human Rights. This remarkable group of kids also performed a beautifully choreographed dance called: Break the Chain.
