OTTAWA - The Canadian general commanding the NATO bombardment of Libya has rejected a call for a ceasefire.

Gen. Charles Bouchard says he doesn't want to give forces loyal to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi any chance to re-arm.

Italy's Foreign Minister Franco Frattini has called for a pause in the campaign to allow access for humanitarian aid.

Bouchard says Gadhafi controls whether humanitarian aid gets to his people.

He says NATO forces will not stop deliveries of food and other supplies.

Bouchard also says he doesn't think Gadhafi is hiding anywhere near any of the military targets of the NATO-led bombing, now in its third month.
