Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on Thursday to participate in a WE Day celebration.
Everyone’s favourite red-haired prince took time away from championing the Invictus Games in Toronto to back the WE Charity’s travelling youth empowerment event and its founder, Craig Kielburger.
Prince Harry urged the crowd of thousands of young people to work together and help one another in order to build a brighter future.
“We are stronger when we work together,†he said.
He also spoke about environmental sustainability and expressed his frustration with how “entrenched mindsets are not keeping pace with the urgency of the threats to our environment.â€
Rick Hansen, Canada’s Man in Motion, introduced the prince to a raucous reception, after touting the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry previously appeared at Free The Children’s first-ever WE Day event in the U.K. in 2014, where he told the gathered crowd that helping others is “the coolest thing in the world.â€
WE Day festivities usually include a strong roster of celebrities.
In addition to Prince Harry, this year’s A-list attendees include Kelly Clarkson, Vanessa Hudgens, Lilly Singh, Penny Oleksiak, George Takei, Mia Farrow and former UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon.
