ROCK CREEK, B.C. - An aggressive wildfire burning in B.C.'s boundary region has grown to 25-square kilometres.

The Rock Creek fire was sparked Thursday and has forced residents of more than 200 homes to flee.

About 200 campers at Kettle River Provincial Park were also evacuated, abandoning their vehicles and belongings as they rushed to safety.

Fire Information Officer Fanny Bernard has not confirmed RCMP reports that vehicles and RVs in the park have been burned.

Bernard says firefighters were busy with structural protection overnight.

She says weather could be a problem for crews fire today, especially if a predicted storm does not bring precipitation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
