MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- Target says it's opening three new stores in Canada, two in Ontario and one in Quebec, bringing the total number of Target stores in Canada to 130.
The stores are in Mississauga and Barrie, Ont. and Candiac, Que.
Target says three more stores are scheduled to open later this fall in Canada.
The U.S. retailer has struggled with its expansion into Canada.
In May, it fired the president of its Canadian operations, Tony Fisher, and replaced him with Mark Schindele, a company veteran.
On Thursday, Target announced PepsiCo executive Brian Cornell will take over as CEO.
He replaces chief financial officer John Mulligan, who has been in the job since Gregg Steinhafel resigned earlier this year following a large data breach in the run-up to the holiday shopping season last year.
