The future of Canadian jobs is in the technology sector, according to Indeed Canada.
The jobs website on Tuesday released its ranking of the 10 best jobs of 2017. Eight out of the top ten jobs were tech-related gigs.
The top three best jobs were, in order: Full stack developer, DevOps engineer and back end developer. Non-tech related jobs that made the list included optometrist and real estate agent, both of which posted the highest salaries.
The list was based on three factors: the number of job postings, salary and growth opportunity.
In a statement, Indeed senior vice-president Paul D鈥橝rcy said that Canada is a 鈥渂ooming hub for tech innovation鈥� as the demand for workers in those fields increases faster than the supply.
鈥淭he result is a rapid growth in open, unfilled jobs and increases in salaries for the talent that can fill these roles.鈥�
