LOS ANGELES - Adele is in vogue, and soon to be in Vogue.

The British torch singer competes in four categories at Sunday's Grammy Awards, including record of the year for the breakup ballad "Chasing Pavements."

Having reached a pinnacle of the music business at just age 20, the plus-sized songstress is moving on to the heights of fashion - with a Vogue spread to be shot this week by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

"I went to go do my final fitting for the shoot," Adele said in an interview Monday. "Then (American Vogue editor in chief) Anna Wintour wanted to meet me, so I was waiting in the hallway."

"It was just like 'The Devil Wears Prada,"' Adele said. "It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice. She was like, 'What labels do you like?' I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in Vogue or something before."

By the time their meeting was over, Adele was red-carpet ready. Wintour took a liking to Adele, and offered to style her for the Grammys.

"Anna Wintour is sorting out my outfit for me," the singer said, sounding as if in disbelief.

"I got a really nice dress," Adele said of her Grammy-night ensemble. "I don't ever wear dresses. I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan. ... It's going to be quite a big deal."
