Jewel Calibaba, of Kamloops, B.C., has created a page on the popular social networking website Facebook, appealing for a kidney donor for her husband, Dale.
Calibaba says she had received a lot of messages from people who want something to happen for her husband and some of the people have told her they contacted the B.C. Transplant Society.
An Abbotsford, B.C., couple have posted an appeal on the online auction site Craigslist, offering to trade one of the wife's kidneys for a kidney that matches the husband.
The wait for a donor kidney in the province is about seven years. It's illegal to sell of buy organs in Canada but such a swap is not against the law.
