VICTORIA - She is scheduled to make stops in Prince Rupert, Kitimat Village, Kamloops, Surrey and Vancouver during her tour that ends up Thursday with a speech at a Vancouver Board of Trade luncheon.

Clark's jobs plan is being billed as her biggest government initiative since her election as Liberal leader last February.

Clark has not been discussing specifics when it comes to her jobs plan, but Liberal officials say it revolves around education and training and several themes, including getting goods to market, opening new markets and making things easier for business.

Central 1 Credit Union chief economist Helmut Pastrick says outside factors are contributing to B.C.'s slow economic growth and job creation prospects, but Clark's initiative can offer stimulus to employers.

University of Victoria political scientist James Lawson says Clark is wise to take a regional approach to her jobs agenda because it sends the message she is trying to help even if there is little she can actually do.
