Infiniti has long aspired to foray further into the high-end car segment. At the , the manufacturer has come forward and made quite clear these intentions, with the sleek, powerful, and luxurious Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept.

This concept aims for the sky with the latest in technology including heads-up display, touch screens for all passengers, and autonomous driving.

Aesthetically, the concept’s exterior and interior lines are spectacular.

Mechanically, the Q80 houses a 3-litre V6 twin-turbo twin-electric module (details are preliminary). Total power would land in and around 550-horsepower, with a modest fuel consumption of approximately 5.5 litres per 100 km.

What is perhaps most revealing about this concept is the stylistic trend that Infiniti may be planning to adopt in the coming years.

With regard to commercialization of the Q80, Infiniti will no doubt face challenges in this segment. Consumers that play in the high-end market tend to remain brand-loyal (the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Audi A8 are firmly established).

One can and should dream big, however.
